GUNNER
Gracie x Dude - 2021 (N. Clark)
January 29, 2023
We went on two quail hunts this weekend with Gunner’s trainer. Gunner is just at 1 year of age.
The trainer told us multiple times that he trains a lot of dogs with great bloodlines but Gunner has knocked it out of the park. Yesterday was 62 and windy, he was working the wind like a seasoned dog and not one time did he false point which is common he said in young dogs in an open field with the wind. Today it was 29 and 24 mph winds with heavy moisture in the air. Gunner covered the field like a pro. Before we knew it he was out 180 yards and on point. It took us 7 minutes to get to him and he held his point strong with no movement while he waited on us. The trainer pointed out that Gunner's footwork is clean and sharp, when he locks on there’s very little creep, if any. He also said Gunner found birds today in the mesquites which a lot of seasoned dogs would have not found, and that Gunner has one of the prettiest points that he has seen in a long time, He was overwhelmed how quick that Gunner worked the field. His speed is remarkable and he doesn’t ever get tired. David went up on a bird yesterday, Gunner did everything perfect, David went for the shot and missed. Gunner started off with a medium jog, but then went into a full sprint to track that bird back down, David looked at our handheld and he was over 16mph. His drive is so intense.

Our vet had a female shorthair and deals with them on a regular basis. He’s pointed out that you can tell that Gunner is not a backyard bed pointer. He’s got a big chest and his prey drive is through the roof. So far he’s been used strictly for quail however last weekend my husband and my father went deer hunting, my dad shot one and it ran off where they couldn’t find it. With no training at all, my husband put the tracking collar on Gunner and told him to “find it”, he never pointed to any blood as there wasn’t any but Gunner got out, took a few steps and took off. A few minutes later we had a point on the handheld and he held for 3 min or so until my husband showed up. He held his point so beautifully - he was like a statue. After finding that dead buck, they pushed some dove in the cedars and in a matter of seconds he switched back over to bird dog mode, his eyes were to the sky and he was searching for birds. It’s crazy he didn’t even know what he was looking for but found it, we had no expectations but know what he’s like with his nose. He’s always bringing us things he finds while out running in the woods. Everyone always tells us how beautiful he is, Gracie’s genetics sure do love to shine!

ROXY
Gracie x Dude - 2021 (B. Steed)
This puppy has been a blessing to our family. She is a great dog. Thank you for the amazing pup!
---------------------------------------------
Roxy is a great retriever. She can really jump, and I've never seen a dog swim as much as she does. I went fishing and she was in the water the whole time. Great dog. We are really enjoying her.

ADDI & SAGE
Reba x Charlie - 2014 - Addi (C. Baker)
Callie x Huck - 2022 - Sage
Hope you and your pups have had as much fun as we have this past year! This is Addi formally known as “Dot”. She is now 40 lbs, all legs, bird crazy and very much our fur-child. She goes just about everywhere we do. There is never a dull moment with her crazy wiggle butt and diva tendencies.
I attached a few pictures of our adventures this past year. Her first dove hunt, when I picked her out of the litter, her first birthday, a picture from our daily trips to the trinity trails and her “planking”, this is what she does every night before we go to bed. I held her like a baby when she was a pup and even though she is now 40 lbs I still do

GRIFFEY
Callie x Rocco - 2021 (Z. Hartlage)
This was our 2nd day of hunting. We pushed these pheasants up a valley, and they eventually ran out of cover so they had to hold. Griffey trailed them the whole way, went on point, and held until we got there. We flushed 4 roosters and shot two of them. This trip has given me stories that I'll tell for the rest of my life.

QUINN
Callie x Rocco - 2021 (S. Schrinner)
Everywhere we take her people comment on what a pretty dog she is. She loves everyone and thinks all want to talk to and pet her plus she is a real goofball always having fun! She is working out great and exceeding our expectations. Dee said half joking half serious let’s get another!!! BTW she points all the squirrels and rabbits and big birds in the park where we walk every day. She is very focused. She is bred to be a hunter. It’s hard-wired in her brain …. Just wanted you to know she for sure didn’t miss out on that gene. People at the park get a kick out of watching her stop in mid-stride with such focus. ----------------------------------- Just a quick Quinn update. Since she was 5 months we have been taking her weekly to what is referred to as socialization which is basically trainer led day care. The trainer continues to be impressed with Quinn’s temperament and said she is one of five of the regular 30-40 dogs that she can put with any dog. I will likely work toward getting her Canine Good Citizen certification in the next 3-4 months. That is the first step in getting her tested to be a therapy dog. BTW-I am always getting compliments on her appearance and behavior on our daily walks at the park. A gentleman asked me a few months ago where I got her because he has always wanted a GSP. I saw him last week and he told me he is on the list for the upcoming Callie litter. |
MAY
Bonnie x Rocco - 2021 (B. Cherry)
Thought I would touch base and let you know how things are going. The little gal's name is May. Short for maybe trouble!
She is very bold. Loves running with the big boys in the field and of course birds. Naturally pointing, honoring, and retrieving. Loves to use her nose.
The genetics are highlighted in her style and drive. Amazing to see at only 10 weeks old.
Emmy and I would like to say thanks again and look forward to all that is ahead of us. Take care and we will continue to update as time passes by.

MOLLY
Reba x Charlie - 2014 (B. Rothell)
I built this ramp and mounted it to a log at the river. We've been working on her "dock diving". She got out 22 feet yesterday and continues to be an amazing dog. She gets a lot of compliments on how pretty she is. And I get a lot of how well trained she is. However, she is so easy to train.

LARUE
Callie x Luca - 2018 (K & B Daniels)
Thought you would like to see updated photo of Heart - LaRue. He’s so smart and his trainer just loves his disposition. He had an intensive two weeks in January. Thanks again for your conscientious breeding and turning out such awesome GSPs. He is complemented by many at his beautiful markings and disposition. He is very level headed and a big lover.

WINSTON
Bonnie x Dude - 2020 (L & A Giotto)
I wanted to take a moment to send you a note and tell you how grateful Andres and I feel to have Winston (aka Bandit) in our family.
Winston has grown up over the last few months so well. He's a beautiful pup who has been taking to his obedience training so well and has started scent work and tracking. He's currently losing his last puppy teeth and once he has all his adult teeth, Andres is excited to start his formal hold and retrieve training. He is truly a fantastic dog, so we thank you very much for breeding such a great pup.
