Roxie is truly a gem with significant dual champion potential. She is a sweetheart in the house - but she hits the field with a relentless determination to find game. As much as any of my dogs, Roxie has the innate ability and drive to go to cover that is most likely to hold birds. When she locates birds, Roxie doesn't go on point, she SLAMS her points with intensity and style. In fact, one judge commented after watching Roxie in a hunt test that he nearly jumped out of his seat when he saw Roxie slam a point on a pair of quail.
Roxie completed her show championship title in about three months - finishing very quickly with her natural beauty, grace, and style. She is currently working on her AKC Senior Hunter title - with no professional training; simply trained by Glenda and me. In fact, we broke her steady to wing-shot-and-fall in two days' of training after she had learned the basics of "whoa". Nice, natural retriever. She has Field Trial range that will get out there and find birds. Roxie's pedigree is simply loaded with Dual Champions, National / Runner-Up National Field Champions, and Hall of Fame dogs. You will be hard pressed to find a finer pedigree than Roxie's. Both her sire (Rocco) and grandsire (Callen) are National Amateur Gundog Champions and Dual Champions, directly from Chuck Parietti's world renown Odyssey Kennel. Her dam (Bonnie) is Master Hunter out of my foundation female (Reba) and Rick Hopkins' likwise famous Walnut Hill Kennel stud dog, Runner-Up National Walking Gundog Champion, Dual Champion, Gamble's Benny the Jet. Benny is a son of Hall of Fame, DC, 3x NSTRA Ch Gamble's Odyssey Fritz MH. Thus, behind both Roxie's sire's lineage and dam's lineage are five (5) generations of Dual Champions and Hall of Fame GSP's from some of the finest GSP bloodlines of the past 30 - 40 years.
