Huck is a direct son of NWGDC/GFC/FC Odyssey's Perfect Traveler (Charlie). He easily finished his FC title at a young age, and was the top-ranked GSP at the 2021 AKC National Walking Gundog Championship. He also just completed his show championship in May 2021, making him a Dual Champion as well!!
Huck has sired a couple of litters so far, and I've seen that the pups from Huck have been bold, very natural, very strong bird dogs in their own right. Yet, Huck lives inside the house at Perfection Kennel, with the easy-going temperament that we love about these Odyssey bred GSPs. Huck's hips are rated OFA Good, while his elbows are rated as Excellent. There is little doubt that Huck will achieve a National Field Champion title as he has already won several very large stakes. While a NFC title on Huck can not be promised, it's a reasonable bet given that Huck is owned by Jon Hann, and Jon has won numerous national championships.
Genetically, Huck represents a pairing from the nationally competitive Chisholm Creek's Cuttin' Loose (Cutter) bloodlines, bred into Odyssey bloodlines through Charlie. Harlan Higgenbotham (owner of Huck's dam) repeated this breeding due to being so pleased with the results of the first litter between his Flag and Charlie. Dogs out of Cutter have been winning major gundog and all-age stakes for the past several years. This is another very high "Performance-Bred Litter" brought to you from CrossPoint Kennel. In the four generations of these pup's pedigree, 83% of the dogs have a performance title, 23% are Dual Champions, and 23% are either National Field Champions, or in the Hall of Fame. The quality is in the breeding of this litter.
The sire behind both Callie and Huck is FC/AFC / NWGDC Odyssey's Perfect Traveler (Charlie). Charlie took 1st place at the 2019 AKC NWGDC, finished as RU in the 2018 AKC National Walking Gundog Championship (NWGDC), and was 2nd RU in two separate National Amateur Gundog Championships. Thus, these pups will be 25% Hall of Fame DC/AFC/BISS Odyssey's Sam Saint Max MH, and 50% Charlie. You can be quite assured that these pups will be genetically programmed to be fantastic upland bird dogs with the easy-to-train biddability that our dogs are so well known for.
More on Callie:
Not only will these pups be great, natural bird dogs - but they will also make great companions for the home. These dogs should be calm in the house, even tempered, and a pleasure to have around you. In the house, Callie simply wants to lay on the couch next to you - calm, not bouncing off the walls like some GSPs. These pups should be easily trained - and competitive at any of the gun dog sports - Hunt Tests, AKC Field Trials, NSTRA, or NAVHDA.
Bottom line - this should be a great litter of natural bird-dog puppies with great temperaments, good conformation, and all built on a legacy of high performing, biddable dogs. Given the strength of breeding behind this litter, these pups will be $1400.
