Rip is a product of Odyssey bloodlines and Rick Hopkins' Walnut Hills Kennel. Rip is a half-brother / half-sister breeding off Hall of Fame, RU-NWGDC, DC Gambles Benney the Jet MH. Benney was just inducted into the GSPCA Hall of Fame in 2026.
Rip is a very solid bird dog, with a "Cannon of a Nose" out of our CrossPoint Gambles Bonnie the Jet MH and out of DC/AFC Jandal's Perfect Merger. On his first South Texas quail hunt, Rip literally jumped out of the dog box and slammed on point within 50 yards of the truck on a nice covey of quail. Rip has a solid, calm temperament - is very focused on his birds, and has started completing his AKC Senior Hunter title. On multiple occasions I've seen his incredible nose catch bird scent from a distance that other dogs simply don't notice. He completed his conformation title in the show ring - finishing easily with his deep chest and easy-going gait. Rip is the total package. In addition to his genetic sire (Benney), his grandfather (Fritz) and great-grandfather (Sam Saint Max) are all three Dual Champions and Hall of Fame GSP's. He has six (6) generations of Dual Champions behind him. It is very hard to find better Dual Champion breeding than what you'll find behind Rip. Rip excels as a hunting dog, but also has the range and style to compete in Field Trials. I sold Rip as a pup, but his owner went through some bad health issues, and so I got him back at about two years of age. He will certainly make a Master Hunter, and well may finish out as a Dual Champion. Lots of good things are in store for Rip as he comes into his own. We believe that pups out of Rip will produce outstanding companions for the home and 1st rate hunters, with proper conformation that you will enjoy hunting behind.
